Asteroids is a classic arcade game from 1979, created by Atari Inc. It quickly became super popular and influenced a lot of games from that era. The game has vector graphics and uses a top-down view. The screen loops, so if you fly off one edge, you appear on the other side.
You control a spaceship dodging rocks in space. Sometimes, flying saucers show up to attack you. Your goal is to shoot the asteroids and destroy the saucers. Avoid crashing or getting hit by enemy shots.
Controls:
- Tap, click, or press any key to START
- Rotate: Left or right arrow keys or A and D, swipe left or right on mobile to turn
- Thrust: Up arrow or W, swipe up on mobile to move forward
- Fire: CTRL or tap
