How to play backgammon in 5 easy steps?
In just five easy steps as detailed in this novice's guide, you will learn how to play backgammon and start having fun with friends as well as family members in an instant.
Step 1: Understand the board layout
There are twenty-four triangles (points) on an online backgammon board divided into four quadrants. Each player has fifteen checkers controlled by each of them; the eighteen are near point 1 and furthest away from their opponent is point 24; don't bother setting it up because your checkers are already arranged on the board.
Step 2: Roll dice and move checkers
When moving their checkers, players have to roll two dice that determine how many places they move them through. In case you have it, you can move two different pieces or one piece for both numbers on the two dice. For this to be deemed as a legal move, you need to land on open points which may be your own or part of an open point–to continue with our previous example this would mean not only points beyond point 24 but also those without any other stones on them but only yours-you can also have one (blot)
Landing Up On Blot Sends It Back To Bar
Step 3: Bearing off
Players need to start moving their checkers towards their home quadrant ( you 1-6; the opponent 19-24 ). Once all the checkers are in your home quadrant start bearing off – removing them from play Roll equal to or higher than point where there is a checker if you want to bear it off There are no legal moves? You lose a turn.
Step 4: The doubling cube
Before rolling, the player may offer to double the stakes using one of these doubling cubes: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 instead of 1 At any rate, it will attract losing one match while his/her opponent accepts in the next round (s)he loses twice as many matches on every contract where (s)he agrees but if not then (s)he does not agree may opt out automatically forcing his/her opponent to forfeit the game while such a cube can still be used more than once in a game with high salaries
Step 5: Winning the Game
Remove all checkers from the board to win. In "gammon" where no checkers have been borne off, the loser loses whatever was in the doubling cube. Or thrice that amount if it was in "backgammon" form (i.e., all checkers located within the boundaries of the winning player’s home quadrant or upon bars).
With these quick steps, you're ready to embark on your online backgammon journey. Good luck and have fun!
