A Riveting Run Through No Man's Land in Battalion Commander 1917
If you ever wanted to make a bold run through the trenches of WWI complete with a sprinkle of action and a dollop of strategy, Battalion Commander 1917 has you covered. Playing as an officer from WWI, the game grabbed me from the get-go with its straightforward but meaty mechanics. The excitement of liberating captured compatriots while evading aerial bombardments — what a rush!
And although the difficulty spikes in the game — both in combat and puzzle-solving — can challenge your limits as well as your patience, the upgrades system feels like a golden nugget discovered in the trenches. Putting money in that heavy tank is as gratifying as a war hero’s reception. Sure, some players complained about pesky ad breaks, but instead of like the drop-off of supplies, probably annoying but yet an essential part of the battlefield’s whims. As comrades play, that all agree the feeling of killing that enemy machine is sweeter than a chocolate victory.
The maker of the game, IriySoft, must have been something of a history buff with a taste for explosive good times. In other words, Battalion Commander 1917 is a must-play time capsule, so don your helmet and charge! Good luck, soldier! You are not talking past the future.
