A Rampaging Romp Through the Streets
Taking control of a gargantuan ape in Big Bad Ape feels exactly like you’d imagine—chaotic and incredibly entertaining. As you guide your titanic simian through urban landscapes, there's a definite thrill in being an unstoppable force that can smash cars, buildings, and even gobble up fleeing humans for energy. The game's objective harks back to the simplicity of arcade classics; destroy everything in sight and keep moving forward.
Now, while the destruction is satisfying, be on the lookout for those pesky armed humans; they can be a real party pooper if you let them. Some players I've chatted with rave about the nostalgia the game evokes, reminiscent of old-school, city-wrecking titles many of us grew up with. Control-wise, it's pretty intuitive, making for a fun pick-up-and-play experience, but don't expect deep mechanics beyond the bash and crash.
Overall, Big Bad Ape offers an amusing diversion, perfect for when you want to let off some steam. Just remember, this isn't exactly high-brow entertainment. If you've ever wondered about the mayhem King Kong could unleash, well, here's your chance to live it. And hey, speaking of apes—why did the big ape climb up the skyscraper? Because the elevator was broken!
