CraftMine delivers a nostalgia-filled survival experience in the post-apocalyptic setting similar to 2D Minecraft-style adventures. With the core objective of avoiding beasts while trying to survive the days that shift, there is a distinct tension and strategy blend. Eating, drinking and staying warm become an intricate dance intertwined with the basic necessity of mining elements and turning them into useful tools, such as spikes and swords.

The hook of CraftMine is its open-facility day journey on an island with an endless loop of harvesting material to unlock new objects that are fun for the segment of play... If sometimes that feeling of triumph is marred by bugs that lead to your created objects not producing outputs that you believe they should, or in which your progress has the feel of coming and going.

Still, it strikes a chord with the survivalists’ community, with players appreciating the difficulty of balancing resource management among perennial dangers. CraftMine does a good job of recreating an interesting survival experience, even if it can be a little frustrating at times.
