Extreme Bikers

Earlier this week, I got my virtual biking experience to the test, thanks to Extreme Bikers—and let me tell you, it was just as challenging as it was adrenalizing. The basic premise of the game: 'Hop on your bike, ride and jump' translates into addictive gameplay, as execution takes precision to 'Perform stunts to perfection, evade the obstacles and have a safe end'. The bike handling takes some getting used to, and there's a satisfying degree of mastery in nailing jumps and stunts over a range of surfaces. Although the levels can be somewhat repetitive, the increasing difficulty level remains just engaging enough. The online feedback is similar, with many praising the addictiveness but noting the occasionally questionable physics.

For some light-hearted fun, Extreme Bikers might be your best shot at virtual stunt biking — minus the risk of scraped knees. Just remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch—until somebody runs into a virtual cactus—that would be one prickly situation!
