A Brain-Tingling Adventure with Cards

4.0

Did you ever try to outsmart a deck of cards?

That was the rollercoaster ride Forty Thieves Solitaire put me on, and let me tell you what a hilariously brain-tingling adventure it was. I was tied up in the traditional solitaire but with a twist that made every win seem like touching a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. There are three levels of difficulty (although I suspect only the hardest one is actually meant for humans; the easiest level is the same game, it seems, without the pressure of time) to choose from, so you can pick your poison -- from walk in the park to Herculean effort (which I've only seen the more accomplished gamers beat).

Players feel conflicted, particularly over achieving that elusive gold level. It’s sort of like a mythological creature that everyone has heard of but no one has seen. Of course, there are also occasional hiccups where the game fails to load and players are left staring blankly at their screens as they wonder if this is the universe telling them to take a break. But once you get beyond [their] weirdities, keeping track of scores on Play123 becomes an enjoyable ritual -- like having trophies on a virtual shelf.

In summary, Forty Thieves Solitaire on Play123 is a classic where players need to tweak their brains and perhaps have their patience tested in the process. But buried in that challenge is a strange kind of charm that has you wanting to try it again. We had no idea sorting cards would be such an epic quest.

Gold level too hard to achieve. No one has hit it; the closest is almost 600 points away!!
