A Wheelie Good Time with Minor Bumps Along the Way

3.8

As you start to play Happy Wheels, you'll soon find out what makes this game shine as the selection of your 'inadequately prepared racer' greets you. The game promises and provides delightfully gory racing action where grave repercussions are ostentatiously overlooked in your quest for triumph. Your selected character, whether it’s Wheelchair Guy or Irresponsible Dad, being defied by ludicrous amounts of mortal peril can’t help but get a chuckle out of you.

The ragdoll physics are smooth, and they contribute to the spectacle when you’re approaching the finish line and delivering each brutal blow. Be it scuttling through a minefield of detonating bombs or creatively cheesing the levels of the game, the game’s dark humor never fails to keep you entertained. And at the moment you think you've played through every stupid challenge that the level crafters can come up with, the community delivers something even more ridiculous. It’s not all sunshine, and rainbows, however — the game can be as punishing in its gameplay as some of the traps scattered across the courses, and you might find yourself replaying sections of the game over and over a little too much. It should be noted that the bloodiness is a selling point for many, indicated by worldwide player comments showing a true enjoyment of the game’s bloody sense of fun.” Flash may have disappeared, but it seems Happy Wheels is here to stay as a cult classic. If a touch of chaos and cartoon gore sounds appealing, then Happy Wheels might just do the trick.
