Kingdom Rush

Played Kingdom Rush now!

I was immediately greeted with the challenge of defending my kingdom against an unrelenting onslaught of orcs, trolls, and nefarious wizards. Please read on to find out what new things `Tower Defense,` a massively multiplayer, strategy-based, mythical war, has in store for you, forcing me to sharpen my tactics on the varying terrain from forests, mountains, and wasteland.

The game was progressionally satisfying, helped by the upgradeable towers that gave a sense of depth and customization. Unleashing special powers and summoning extra troops — particularly the elven warriors — against legendary monsters created a strategic component that ensured gameplay wouldn’t devolve into monotony. There are 30 unlockables in the achievement system, which creates some great sense of completion.

In general, I felt Kingdom Rush was a good balance of challenge and entertaining. Other players say otherwise, commending its engaging mechanics and solid replayability. It is not a perfect game and it can be fairly confusing at first but it certainly shines in the tower defense genre. It’s an adventure worth the hours for anyone who enjoys strategic planning and fantasy-style combat.
