Jumping straight into Pool Mania seems like finding a slice of playtown without any fuss — no need to download anything!

The game comes with 7 levels whose difficulty locks behind a paywall, for additional content purchases, now or later.

This late modern title on the pocket screen opened up a level for me to play, and act out a virtual game of pool — a game I have no chances of playing in real life, but love to do on the pocket device.

Every level tickles your brain just a little bit, as your goal is to sink those recalcitrant balls. The progression system is satisfying; earn stars to unlock fancier cues, soon you’ll be showing off to your friends with a shiny new stick! It’s a clean way to hone your skills.

Cons

But the joy ride isn’t without a few bumps in the road. Certain stages feel a little repetitive and at times the challenge can feel like playing against a wall. It can get a little repetitive if you’re going for an extended binge session. But if you’re like me — hopping in for a few very quick rounds — it’s a warm experience worth plugging into!
