A Serpentine Adventure Through the Jungle

3.7

In Snake Condo, a pixelated wilderness, steering a snake stuck in a permanent state of Growth through a dense digital jungle was easier said than done — the key was keeping away from the sides. The controls are sensitive, which is needed because the game can move fast at times (the game is also reported as laggy as mentioned by other gamers).

For anyone in the mood for a mindless way to kill a few minutes, Snake Condo does work. It’s got that nostalgic charm, and it’s easy to see why it could draw around the 4-star ratings. But it isn’t without its rough spots — the challenges sometimes feel repetitive, and more gameplay variety would be welcome. Even so, there is something satisfying about besting your own high score as you swerve through pixelated underbrush. If you’ve played more serious games with similar mechanics, you might cover your eyes and stamp your foot with indignation, but if you want something low-key to pass the time and you can catch your money growing up like one of those ads where the kid grows up in a year — you might find this to be a worthwhile addition to your low-pressure title rotation.

Oh, and how about a joke: Why don’t snakes drink coffee? Because it turns them viperactive!
