High Stakes, Quick Reflexes in Top Shootout: The Saloon

4.7
In Top Shootout: The Saloon, slipping on the dusty boots of a sharpshooting hero immediately hurled me into a torrent of action. The stakes were high when I was trying to rescue hostages from evil bandits. Every corner of the saloon was filled with murderous danger, and I had to keep my eyes peeled and reflexes primed to eliminate the foes and their cunning bosses.

The immersive atmosphere sucked me in immediately, and shooting was rewarding too. I’ve heard some of my fellow gaming marvels talk about the high of bettering their best scores, something I can say I’ve experienced during my time with the game. The difficulty ramps up well but it may take newcomers a little time to key into off-the-rails pace of the gameplay.

The end result is Top Shootout: The Saloon feels to be an okay arcade experience that has its moments; just enough to keep the player engaged, yet just enough challenge to make it worth their time. It captures that sensation of being in the middle of a wild west gunfight perfectly, and while there are a few issues with the difficulty curve and the controls, it ends up being an addictively satisfying quick draw game that will have you coming back for ā€˜just one more’ round.
