Valiant Knight

When my journey in Valiant Knight began, in my mind it was proposed to me the idea of a knightly saga with the element of danger and hidden treasure. More than just a display of courage, the knight is on an impenetrable quest — to become wealthy for his beloved princess. It’s a classic story of chivalry that’s filled with challenges that will test both grit and agility.

At every level, I nimbly avoided nefarious traps and determined baddies, all the while filtering through a cascade of coins. The controls are simple enough, enticing a quick jump into the game, though getting the timing right may take a few tries. I’m not alone, though, in finding certain stages pretty challenging, with the shared gasps of other players feeling vindicating that patience is as much a virtue as courage here.

But the journey is not only about reflexes. I faced puzzles that required me to stop my dashing gallantry and consider the methods by which I could pass. That said, I did enjoy the option to save scores on Play123, which allowed for a sense of progression and a twinge of friendly competition.

Valiant Knight isn’t going to change the genre, but it’s a well crafted little game that provides a moderate challenge to anyone looking to kill some time with a medieval themed strategy game. For anyone wanting to help a knight in his gallant quest, this game is an entertaining, if not groundbreaking, diversion.
