Winter Solitaire

Winter Solitaire to me is like curling up by the fire on a cold day and settling into something warm and comforting. With simple game mechanics at play, players are encouraged to build those stacks on the foundations as well as place those cards on the tableau in descending order in alternative colors. I became engrossed, planning my best approach to clear the board.

Though the gameplay will be familiar to solitaire buffs, the winter theme suggests pleasant seasonal variations that make this more than your average deck of cards. This little snowman is cute, and discovering that clicking it changes things was a nice layer of interaction in the game. Players eager to solidify their success will appreciate the score submission option — it can take some getting used to, though. Swimming through the games to input your score is pretty intuitive, once you get the hang of it. However, it’s clear that some players have hit some small hiccups in attempting to add their own scores, where there’s room for improvement there. Overall, Winter Solitaire provides a rewarding combination of traditional gameplay with seasonal frills. It’s a game that offers up a gentle challenge; it’s a nice way to spend a few minutes. ❄️⛄️
